Network Support Engineer


Location: Telford

Salary: £32K to £38k depending on experience plus benefits

Trinity Expert Systems is recruiting an experienced Network Support Engineers to operate within one of its major accounts.

A key focus area is our Managed Services division which provides high quality, full spectrum outsourced IT services to our customers.

Working in the IT Services Infrastructure Operations team, the Network Analyst will make a significant contribution to the operational support and management if the of the IT network infrastructure. The scope of work includes the Wide and Local Area Networks, Remote Access, Firewall Management.

Accountabilities (In brief):

· Operate and maintain the UK enterprise network.

· Provide support, documentation as required.

· Participate in design and technology reviews

· Provide technical assurance for the transition to support of new projects.

· Technical approval of Change Controls

· Act as Technical Design Authority on major projects

· Develop and maintain operational support process and procedures ensure these are communicated to and understood by the wider service delivery teams.

· Be the technical lead within operations for network services.

· Perform operational tasks on; Routers; Switches, Firewalls

· Support the high availability and reliability of all network systems

· Troubleshoot complex network issues

Skills & Experience (In brief):

· Excellent operational track record for management of large scale enterprise networks.

· Either CCNA, CCNP, CCIE qualified.

· Cisco multilayer-switched environment utilising unicast and multicast services.

· Excellent technical knowledge of network topologies, troubleshooting and design, TCP/IP, Multilayer Switching and Routing.

· Extensive experience of Firewall operations and implementation, VPN and Network Address Translation.

· Extensive experience of Wide Area Networking technologies, preferably MPLS.

· Extensive practical experience in operating, configuration and building networks with current CISCO equipment and IOS in a WAN and LAN environment.

· Strong Cisco Routers, Switches and Firewall knowledge (Cisco PIX, ASA & Checkpoint Firewalls, VPNs) gained in an Enterprise support environment.

An ability to communicate with customers at all levels is required along with patience, understanding and the ability to proactively take responsibility for customer’s problems. You will also have…

· Have a flexible approach and can work as a team player.

· Demonstrate competence in oral and written communication.

· Must be tolerant and adaptable to change.

· May be required to work to shift patterns including weekends.

· May on occasion be required to work on other sites.
