Electronic Document and Records Management


Freedom of information and data protection legislation has brought information management and workflow to the forefront of the technological agenda.

All public bodies had a requirement to comply with this legislation by 1st January 2005, and to put information management and request procedures in place. In addition, businesses across a range of sectors are recognising the importance of integrated, collaborative working with integrated workflow and records management capabilities.

Our electronic document and records management (EDRM) system provides scanning, workflow, security/user management, and storage functionality. It uses best of breed technology, integrated with the Microsoft .NET framework to provide the following functionality:

  • Scanning – Kofax Ascent Capture
  • Document storage – Windows SharePoint Services
  • Portal interface – Microsoft Office SharePoint 2007
  • Workflow and line of business integration – Biztalk Server 2006
  • Workload/case management – custom .NET solution
  • Records management – Microsoft Office SharePoint 2007 and Meridio
  • Public access sites gateway – Content Management Server 2002

The system conforms to the Freedom of Information and Data Protection Acts, and is PRO 2002 approved.
